What is animal physiotherapy?

About Animal Physiotherapy

Q) What is animal physiotherapy?
A)
Animal physiotherapy is a complementary therapy involving the assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal and neurological conditions.  If an animal has surgery or suffers an injury they may need rehabilitation to help them get back to their normal level of fitness.

Q) Do I need to ask my vet to complete a referral form?
A) Yes. In accordance with the current Veterinary Surgeons Act and as a member of the International Association of Animal Therapists, a referral form must be completed and signed by your vet prior to physiotherapy treatment.

Q) What happens after my vet has completed the referral form?
A) Upon receipt of the referral form I will arrange an initial appointment with you at a convenient time. This will include a full assessment and treatment of the animal, taking up to 1.5 hours. For follow-up appointments please allow approximately one hour for treatment.
